Yoga With Joëlle Website Refresh Project

This was a fun website refresh project!

Joëlle, is an international Yoga Teacher specializing in simple solutions for pain management. She has a substantial YouTube channel and a variety of programs and workshops that she offers on her site. Not only that, she’s a published author!

When Joëlle reached out to me she had a nice website that she had DIY-ed, but at after living with it for sometime she wanted a fresh look that better captured her style and personality.

After our consultation, we decided this would be a great project to do as VIP Day project. We spent a couple weeks planning and then implemented all the updates in just one day to give her the website the site of her dreams!

Here’s a Summary of What we updated

Created a new brand mood board with a new color palette and fonts

Yoga with Joelle's new custom color palette for her Squarespace website

  • The palette changed from the original pale peach and dark pinks to more earthy shades of blue, oranges, and deep green/teal.

  • Added a pop of color, by using an extra ‘custom’ shade of orange to highlight page banners and bits of text here and there.

  • Updated her logo with the new colors and font choice.

Updated Home Page Design

  • Choose new photos to elevate and unify the page

  • Added a “Meet Joëlle” section

  • Highlighted a video from her successful YouTube channel

  • Update all other pages’ banners with a consistent design

Updated sections to Fluid Engine

  • Where appropriate, I updated sections to the Fluid Engine editor. This allowed flexibility in tidying up some pages by easily aligning images and text for the look Joëlle wanted both in desktop and mobile views.

Added two lines of custom CSS code

  • Rounded the corners on cards and images for list blocks site-wide

  • Can be seen on “Testimonials” sections across the site and in the Programs and Workshops pages

While this was a ‘refresh’, it shows how much can be accomplished with updates to an existing site. You get a ‘new’ website without needing to build it from scratch!
