Upon reaching out to the excellent support teams of both Squarespace and Termageddon, I realized that the issue stemmed from having Google reCAPTCHA listed as “Functional” (which is the default setting) under the General > Categories settings in the Termageddon Cookie Consent Tool and not as “Essential.”

Fixing the Issue: Adjusting Service Category Settings in Termageddon

To ensure your Squarespace forms render correctly on live pages, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Access your Termageddon account and go to the "Cookie Policy and Consent Tool" section.

Step 2: Under the "Edit Policy Details" option, click through to the area where set up your services and run a scan.

Step 3: Locate the Google reCAPTCHA and Google reCAPTCHA version 3 services. If not already added, you can manually add them.

Step 4: Click on each reCAPTCHA service and navigate to the general settings section on the right-hand side of your screen.

Step 5: Set the category to "essential" for both reCAPTCHAs.

Step 6: Submit the changes. You should receive a message that your policy has been updated and that there is no need to update the code for your policy on your site.

Step 7: Return to Squarespace and toggle on the reCAPTCHA option in the form block in the ‘storage’ settings.

Step 8: Your forms should now render correctly on your live pages.
